Ron's career in the music business began in 1970. He learned the art of recording at two of America's busiest and best recording studios, Record Plant Studios and Media Sound Studios, both in NYC. Some of Ron's ‘colleagues’ during those formative years were Tony Bongiovi, Bob Clearmountain, Harvey Goldberg, Mike Barbiero, Joe Gastwirt and Michael Brauer. Since going "Independent" as a Producer, Engineer and Mixer in 1977 his work has amassed over 100 + gold and platinum awards, selling over a quarter billion units, garnering 19 Grammy nominations for the Artists with 14 wins for them. He’s also mixed live and recorded in venues from the 1980 Winter Olympics, CBGB’s, Ronald Regan’s Inauguration Ceremonies and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He has one of the most eclectic discographies in the business working in numerous genres of music. Among some of the more notable include such Artists as: Hendrix, Stevie, Aretha, Whitney, Diana, Smokey, Michael, Ashford & Simpson, Mick Jagger, U2, Muse, Bad Brains, Living Colour, 311, Tool, Soundgarden, Sonic Youth, Creed, The Cure, Ziggy, Chili Peppers, Foreigner, Kraftwerk, Duran Duran, Fatback, Ornette Coleman, McCoy Tyner, Jackie McClean, Nels Cline, Bill Frisell, Paul Motion, Kris Davis, Craig Taborn, Mark Dresser, Dan Weiss, Chess Smith, Ingrid Laubrock, The Last Poets and numerous others. Although he travels frequently for tracking and ‘Live-to-2-Track sessions, since 2008 he brings everything back to his home studio, Saints Place, to mix on his Neve/Amek 9098i Console.
