About me
Tony Graduated with a degree in Music Performance Percussion in 1984. Upon graduating college he took a position as receptionist at Unique Recording Studios in Times Square. Tony worked at Unique for 13 years, 10 of which he managed the facility. While at Unique Recording he formed Tony Drootin Management and managed numerous engineers, songwriters and producers. In 1998 Tony accepted the position as manager of the prestigious Sony Music Studios on West 54th Street. He managed that facility until it closed in 2007. In 2007 Tony secured overseas investors and formed a company with the intention of building a multi room production facility, a label, and a management/publishing admin company. When the world economy took a hit in 2008 his investors defaulted on their commitment. Between 2008 and now Tony has owned his own recording facility Area 51 NYC, managed numerous other facilities, and managed a number of engineers and songwriters. He currently manages Sound on Sound Recording Studios in Montclair New Jersey and is the board chair for the We Are All Music Foundation.
